How: When Armourer’s Choice™ approached Baytek for web & branding, we were excited to accept a new creative challenge. We developed their branding and custom designed and built a WordPress one page website. Useful in a multitude of scenarios, Armourer’s Choice™ is easily accessible and conveys all information needed in an easy to understand manner. Versatile from earth to space, their new logo is recognizable and functional in all aspects of the brand and market.

Boomerang Kids – New Website Design

Who: Established in 1994, Boomerang Kids is a Canadian owned and operated franchise chain of resale stores based in Ottawa, Ontario. Most of the stores’ inventory is consigned by families in the local communities the stores serve. About 25% of Boomerang Kids stores’ merchandise is new product, or “factory fresh” items.

How: As a long time staple in Ottawa and beyond, Boomerang Kids had outgrown their existing site. With new owners and fresh impetus, Boomerang Kids came to Baytek to create a fresh new website that represented their approach. Fun, exciting and community-driven – these words were used as inspiration to create the new, responsive and mobile-friendly website that you see today.

MacEwen – New Website Design

Who: MacEwen began in 1976 as a small operation serving customers in rural eastern Ontario. For years, MacEwen supplied Maxville, Ontario and the surrounding region with heating oil and diesel, and reliable service. Now they are recognized as a leading Canadian independent petroleum and convenience store company.

How: With a complex company, comes complex challenges. With many sales channels and target audiences, Baytek’s challenge was to get them all under one roof in a simple, intuitive way. The solution was to break up the site into major sections such as retail, residential and commercial. Each section has its own feel, but at the same time uniquely “MacEwen”. Who: La-Z-Boy are a company that doesn’t need much introduction. They are all about comfort, convenience and style. The Ottawa and Kingston stores needed a better web presence, along with a new booking system to allow customers to book time with a design consultant.

How: Baytek created a custom, unique web design from the ground up. Taking advantage of La-Z-Boy’s huge bank of incredible photography, the decision was made to make the website an extremely visual experience, showing off the array of furniture on offer. The end result, is a visually appealing, functional website that looks just as good on mobile as it does on desktop.

Zestible – Live Website Launch

Owner and operator Brady Bryson had his fair share of experience before opening his doors working, and after years in the pool industry, Brady decided to open up a store of his own in hopes that he could fill the need in the market for an experienced retail and service team.

How: In a competitive environment such as the hot tub and spa industry, it’s important to have a website design that stands out – that’s why Brady’s came to Baytek. Cafe Deluxe – New Brand & Website Design

Who: Established in 2001, Cafe Deluxe opened as a humble restaurant in the heart of Ottawa’s downtown core. They’ve since expanded to offer catering services, but their restaurant remains a local mainstay for new and loyal customers looking for a quick coffee and cookie to go, or a filling, comforting sit-down lunch.

How: Baytek took Cafe Deluxe through a complete rebranding process. The catering part of the business was growing, but their brand was being left behind. Baytek set about putting that right. The formation of the logo mark was derived from three meanings – the idea of delivery and food wrapping, the arrangement of coffee stir sticks, and the symbol of quality. The former is created through the use of twine or string to wrap the packaged food. The wooden stir sticks represent the ‘natural’ world – the ingredients, the flavours. The final idea in the logo is as the star – a symbol of quality, and a symbol of something being ‘deluxe’ – elegant and luxurious. The star represents the quality that Cafe Deluxe offers to its customers – the freshness, the ingredients, the customer service – everything that Cafe Deluxe stands for can be represented by the star. A seal of approval that once the food has left the kitchen, the customer will be guaranteed something tasty, fresh and hand-crafted. Once the brand had been established, we started on a complete revamp of their web presence. The result was a beautiful responsive WordPress powered website with amazing food photography and key messaging.

Up and Down Doors – New Brand and Website Design

Who: Up & Down Doors is a locally-owned company, providing prompt and reliable quality service for all your garage door needs.

How: As a new business, Baytek was able to provide everything from branding, logo design, web design and marketing design. The formation of the unique logo mark was derived from combining the U and D of Up & Down, and the familiar lines of a garage door. Then by adding some perspective to the mark we have created an abstract mark that may seem complex but at the same time so simple. We avoided the usual cliches used by the competition, and created something unique that gives a solid, professional look to the business. It automactically speaks to high quality, modernity and attention to detail. By rounding the corners of the letters we also added a friendlier quality to the mark, to show of the personable approach of the business. K6 Media did an awesome job on the truck wrap, using a matte and gloss combination – I’m sure you’ll notice it as Mike drives it round Ottawa!

Luca Mariano Whiskey – New Website

Luca Mariano Whiskey

Who: The Viola Family Whiskey recipes have been closely guarded secrets kept by the family since 1914 and passed down from generation to generation. As a tribute, to his son Luca and to his grandfather Mariano, Francesco S. Viola created Luca Mariano Distillery to share his family tradition legally with you.

How: As Ottawa’s Web Design and Branding specialists, Baytek jumped at the chance to be involved in this project. Having initially established the branding, Baytek was then invited to design and develop the responsive website for the Whiskey arm of the Luca Mariano brand. Each whiskey in the family has it’s own story, told through visually appealing graphics and font design. The result is a simple yet attractive home base for the Luca Mariano Whiskey brand to grow into. Much like the Whiskey, it gets better with age!

New Website Launch | Eyemaxx Optical Studio

Who: Eyemaxx is a high-end optical studio located in the heart of the Nation’s Capital. Their brands include Dolce & Gabbana, SALT, Oakley and Ray-Ban.

Solution: Baytek’s main focus on the project was to put the power of Eyemaxx’s website back into their hands. For a long time, Eyemaxx’s website was functioning on an antiquated system that included a number of hurdles to do even the smallest update. Coupled with an aging front-end, Eyemaxx were longing for a solid back end where they could harness the power and ease of use of a content management system (CMS), tie in their social media content, and have a fresh coat of paint on the site that would truly represent their presence as Ottawa’s best and most fashionable high-end optical studio. Baytek delivered on that premise, and then some. Eyemaxx are now proud to send customers to their new website, knowing that they can update their content exactly when they want and show off their studio and brands in the best possible way.
