Today, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of MedManageSCI, a dedicated digital toolkit and brand developed to empower individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI) in managing their medications confidently and independently. This project was a collaborative journey aimed at creating a user-centric platform that addresses the unique challenges faced by those with SCI, ultimately providing resources for greater autonomy and improved quality of life.
The Vision Behind MedManageSCI
The MedManageSCI brand was born from a vision of fostering independence for individuals with SCI by providing them with accessible, research-backed resources. Working alongside the University of Toronto’s Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, as well as the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation, we set out to build a brand that reflects this mission of support, empowerment, and education.
Project Approach
- Discovery and Brand Strategy
Our journey began with an in-depth brand discovery session. We worked with the client to define MedManageSCI’s brand purpose, values, and goals, articulating a vision to empower and support individuals with SCI. Through this process, we identified MedManageSCI’s core audience and developed a brand voice that is compassionate, clear, and professional—key traits that align with the mission to make medication management accessible and empowering. - Building the Brand Framework
Next, we crafted a cohesive brand framework, developing vision and mission statements and defining brand attributes that reflect MedManageSCI’s unique offering. We focused on creating a toolkit that was more than just functional, but transformational—a bridge to independence for its users. - Developing StyleScapes
With the foundation in place, we explored several visual directions through StyleScapes, allowing us to narrow down the design and messaging approach. From “Community Connect” to “Empowerment Evolution,” each StyleScape encapsulated different aspects of MedManageSCI’s personality, values, and audience needs. This creative exploration guided the final design choices, ensuring the brand identity resonated with both the client’s mission and the end-user experience. - Crafting the Website and Toolkit Content
Content development was central to MedManageSCI’s value proposition. Each module in the toolkit was carefully crafted to provide actionable, easy-to-understand guidance on medication management, with each section addressing a different aspect of SCI medication needs. We created a clear, engaging layout for the website, integrating content that supports self-management with easy navigation, ensuring users can find the resources they need quickly. - Designing an Accessible and Engaging User Experience
We prioritized a clean, accessible website design that aligns with current best practices in accessibility and ease of use. The navigation is straightforward, and each module offers a welcoming, educational approach, ensuring that users feel supported and encouraged to engage with the material. Key calls to action, targeted FAQs, and strategically placed resources make the website both functional and inviting.
Celebrating the Results
MedManageSCI’s brand and website launch mark the culmination of a collaborative effort to provide a much-needed resource in the SCI community. We’re proud to have worked with partners dedicated to improving lives through education, empowerment, and healthcare support. We look forward to seeing MedManageSCI grow and impact individuals on their journey toward greater independence.
